I loved her idea of being stripped bare of everything except symbols of those things she is most passionate about, the idea came to her in a dream.
Yellow is for missing children, pink for breast cancer awareness or breast feeding mother's rights, orange is world hunger awareness, purple is domestic violence prevention, sky blue is child abuse prevention and ADD awareness.
She is also wearing her wedding ring and a cross given to her by her father. She has been married to her "soul mate" for 15 years and feels that Christianity is a big part of her being. Many thanks Laura for your participation in this project!
This is a wonderful painting Terry!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing it and explaining its meaning!
Beautiful job !
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing concept and executed so wonderfully. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteI stopped when I saw this image. Then I noticed there were other images, as if this were a themed project.
Then I kept the page up for a few days, amongst several other pages so that when scrolling along, doing research, I'd see it again from time to time. The times when I'm not looking at it gives my subconscious time to ruminate on the image and idea...
It took a few days until I finally noticed that this wasn't a symbolic photo but a painting. Double Wow!!!
I believe it's important for people to have beautiful and/or meaningful objects for them to look at on a regular basis in order to keep a healthy mental attitude. That's why I had to bookmark your page under "Beauty" where this page resides among Michelangelo's David and other sculptures, Inca architecture, etc.
Thank you.
Thank you for your nice words, I love it when my work connects with people :)

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sara. This model is inspirational! I like the "not a figurative painter YET" Art is always a journey.
